Did you know?
The Águas Livres Aqueduct in Lisbon has an impressive arch, and it is often claimed to have the largest ogival arch in the world. The central arch of the aqueduct extends 29 metres (95 ft) and reaches a height of 65 metres (213 ft).
The 25th of April Bridge is the sister of the Golden Gate. The structure of the April 25th Bridge was built by the same company that made the Bay Bridge in San Francisco (not the Golden Gate, as many think, but the look is quite similar!). It even used to shake like the one in San Francisco before the reforms."

At the Palace of Queluz
The Hall of Mirrors has a history of listening
The grandiose Ambassadors' Room, also called the Hall of Mirrors, was designed not only for its beauty, but for its politics. The acoustics are so crisp that royals and spies would use hidden corners to eavesdrop on conversations – and some say whispering voices can still be heard when the room is empty...
The "Sleeping Lady"
A lesser-known story tells of a woman dressed in royal costumes who appears sitting in one of the old chairs, looking out the window – always in silence. There is no official record of this sighting, but palace guides have whispered about sightings, especially during the winter months when the palace is quiet and foggy.
The Gardens and the Shadow in the Labyrinth
Formal gardens used to have hedge mazes, now all but gone. But there is still a spot near the canal where gardeners claimed to see a tall, dark figure walking out of sight – always around dusk. Some say it is the ghost of a court official who was unjustly executed during the palace's darkest days.
